Open year round Rising Spirits Shooting School is nestled on 80 acres of lush Gallatin River land. This exclusive river-front property is designed to offer the most versatile and unique shooting experience in Montana. The course includes two five-stand areas and a full sporting clays course with twelve unique stations. Stations are changed regularly, by two NSCA trained target setters, to offer a variety of target presentations. In addition, each five-stand is monitored by an NSCA certified referee. This course has an incredible mix of challenging real life shooting situations, is a ton of fun and a great way to spend the day along the Gallatin River in Beautiful Southwestern Montana!

Sporting clays is a new, exciting target game. It is challenging, fun, and competitive. The lure of the game lies in its realism. The targets simulate actual field hunting on specially designed courses that imitate real field conditions. Sporting clays offers a variety of target presentations that replicate the movement of game with precision and accuracy. Shooters move from station to station, with each station presenting different targets. Unlike skeet shooting, sporting clays uses a variety of clay targets which are combined with different speeds and angles creating challenging targets for shooters of all skill levels. Targets are incoming, outgoing, crossing, climbing, quartering away, streaking overhead, or any combination of the above.

Doc Bradford loves to shoot. He is a former member of the national shooting team and an American archery champion. He is an accomplished target shooter on both the national and international levels. As a retired dentist and former Bank Corporation Chairman, Doc devotes all of his spare time to building and shooting his sporting clays course. Doc has over fifteen years of experience in shooting, safety and instruction. Doc can help improve any shooter’s skill level using individual, group, clinic, and video instruction. Doc is a certified as a Level 1 instructor by the National Sporting Clays Association.

The sporting clays course is also available upon request for private outings. Rising Spirits can provide guns, ammunition, eye and ear protection, instructors, and catering.
